Pre Christmas Getaway
I have just finished updating the December events on the website and there is so much to do in the area for a pre Christmas getaway.
My recommendation if you want to treat the kids is to visit during weekend of the 4th Dec. During the break you can choose to visit the nearby market town of Helmsley for their Christmas Tree Festival and ice skate on the popup rink outside the Blackswan Hotel, or you could see the Christmas Lights being turned on in the picturesque village of Thornton Le Dale with a visit from Santa himself. Or perhaps your child would prefer to meet Santa on Pickering's steam train (this must be booked with NYMR prior to your stay)

Of course there is still plenty to do during the other weekends in December too. Perhaps you fancy a romantic break away where you can wrap up warm while you explore Christmas Markets. Or go for a bracing walk in the country and then immerse yourself in a warm hot-tub under the frosty trees which are lined with fairy lights.
