This Hallowe'en half term join us for frighteningly fun activities, with scary storytelling and a spooky trail. Wrap up warm and take a wander around our atmospheric abbey that inspired Bram Stoker's gothic story, Dracula. The perfect setting to mark the ghoulish holidays and to blow off some cobwebs before school begins again!

 

Hunt The Witch

Find the missing words for your spell by locating the witches’ ‘wanted’ posters around the grounds. Take care though – some of our witches were pretty dreadful creatures! Drop in any time

Creepy Creatures

Dates - 25th Oct 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm

 

With a superhero bug hunt and creature crafts, you’ll be an expert in all things creepy by the end of the afternoon! Sutton Bank National Park Centre Suitable for ages 3-7

Evening Family Nature Walk

Dates - 25th Oct - 29th Oct  5pm to 6.30pm

 

A great fright-free family event, with story-telling! Hot drinks, juice and biscuits will be served in the Conservatory along with craft activities.

Don't forget your torch and wellies!

ILLUMINATED ABBEY

Dates - 26th Oct - 29th Oct  6.30pm to 9 pm

 

Cast light on a dark history! See Bram Stoker's inspiration in a new light as Whitby Abbey is bathed in dramatic illuminations. As you explore its gothic splendour, our costumed characters will introduce the darker side of the past with tales of grave robbing and witch trials. You can also experience a live performance of Dracula to complete your visit. Halloween fancy dress encouraged!

FEAR IN THE FOREST FOR HALLOWEEN 

Dates 29th Oct  5.30pm to 8 pm

 

Enjoy a spooky walk through the woods this Halloween with Dalby Forest’s Fear in the Forest event.

 

Get up close and personal with captive bats, have a go at some ‘Creepy Crafts’ or grab a bite to eat in the Dalby Café. 

Fancy Dress is optional and there will be prizes for the best. Guided walks start at 5.30pm with the last walk at 8pm, each lasting about 40 minutes. The walks are suitable for children 5+ but not suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Appropriate footwear and clothing recommended and please bring a torch. Booking for this event is online.

HALLOWEEN HALF TERM AT FLAMINGO LAND 

Dates 22nd - 30th Oct 10am to 5pm

 

In addition to the sensational theme park and award-winning zoo, there are a whole host of themed events, eerie-sistible Halloween menus at the Mansion House & Tea Rooms, Coach House Country Pub and Metropolis Bar & Grill, plus tricks and treats for you to enjoy each and every day.

Younger guests can hop aboard for a spooky indoor train ride down at Mischief Mansion or watch as some of our fantastic animals encounter a Halloween pumpkin, some for the very first time. Alternatively, slither on over to our Education Centre where you can demonstrate your pumpkin carving skills, meet some truly creepy creatures or pick up a free Halloween Zoo Trail sheet.

The meerkat mascots, Wizard Mylo and his accomplice Mia the Witch, will be providing spellbinding entertainment down at Riverside One. But beware; anyone fearless enough to return later in the day will bear whiteness to some truly terrifying live entertainment. So, if you dare visit our all-weather stage at 4:30pm, be prepared for our ‘Trick or Treat’ show, featuring an amazing live illusionist! 

And, until 5:30pm each day, the fearless are invited to experience a truly unique sensation - A twilight ride on Hero, our truly breathtaking rollercoaster.
