Cowldyke Farm Near Kirbymoorside
The path creates a pleasant circular route and links to a public bridleway that passes through Cowldyke Farm and crosses the River Dove at a wath (ford). The path takes in the creation of a traditional riverside hay meadow, grassy field margins and the restoration of hedgerows, funded through the Countryside Stewardship Scheme. Patches of wildlife mix are also being grown as a seed resource for farmland birds, such as tree sparrow and grey partridge. There is also potential to see an elusive otter along the river side. Walkers who wish to use the bridleway may find the wath impassable when the water levels are high.
